Construct BFSD Public Infrastructure 2nd Street NE including all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to construct approximately 1,700 lineal feet of 9-inch (43 foot B-B) PCC pavement, 800 lineal feet of sidewalk, 1,200 lineal feet of 15 to 30-inch storm sewer, 2,000 lineal feet of 12-inch PVC watermain, intakes, storm manholes, hydrants, valves, traffic signals, earthwork, surface restoration, traffic control, and miscellaneous associated work, including cleanup. All work and materials are to be in accordance with the proposed plans, specifications, form of contract and estimate of cost now on file in the office of the City Clerk of Bondurant, Iowa. All proposals and bids shall be submitted to the City Clerk on or before the set receipt time of bids, using official bidding blanks furnished by the City. Each proposal must be sealed, plainly identified, and accompanied by bid security equal to five percent (5%) of the bid, in the form of a certified check, cashier's check, certified share draft, or bid bond. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. The City Council reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive informalities or technicalities, and accept the bid which it deems to be in the best interest of the City. The work will commence within ten (10) calendar days as set out in written Notice to Proceed and shall be completed by the specified completion date. Failure to complete the work under the specified schedule will result in liquidated damages per consecutive calendar day until the project is complete.
