The Village of Mount Prospect seeks Technical & Cost Proposals from engineering firms for Construction Engineering services for construction of two monument signs, one on Busse Road north of I-90 and the other on Rand Road at Business Center Drive. A key component of the Village's Strategic Plan is to enhance Mount Prospect's character by constructing top quality infrastructure. An important 2026 goal, as identified in the Village Budget, is to install welcoming monument signage at two key points in the Village. Busse Road & I-90 Builders Asphalt LLC has a plant on the east side of Busse Road north of I-90 within the Village of Mount Prospect. South of I-90 is Elk Grove Village. The proposed monument sign will serve as a gateway into the Village. The project includes metal & stone work, landscaping, lighting and irrigation. The footprint of the work will be on Builders property in an easement. No work will take place within the Busse Road right-of-way. Rand Road & Business Center Drive A brick marker for the Kensington Business Park currently exists on Village property at the intersection. The proposed monument sign will replace the current one along a key corridor in the Village. The project includes removal of the old marker, metal & stone work, landscaping, lighting and irrigation. No work will take place within the Rand Road right-of-way. Construction and Construction Engineering will be paid for using Village Funds. There are no State or Federal funds included in this project. No permits from other agencies are required. At a minimum, the following tasks shall be included in the scope of services. Additional tasks, at the consultant's recommendation, will be considered by the Village. 1. Fully understand the plans, specifications, and estimate of cost. 2. Create a preconstruction meeting agenda for the Village's review. Lead an in-person preconstruction meeting with Village staff and Contractor. 3. Complete all tasks related to providing Construction Engineering meeting Federal/State/County/Village requirements. 4. Prepare and submit agreements for construction engineering. 5. Review shop drawings and material submittals. 6. Coordinate with private utility companies to locate facilities as necessary prior to construction. 7. Provide horizontal and vertical construction layout of the proposed improvements as necessary. 8. Coordinate QA/QC with the contractor during construction. 9. Respond to inquiries from various stakeholders and address issues in a timely manner. 10. Prepare pay estimates for contractor work performed. 11. Respond to and review Change Order requests should they arise. 12. Complete all necessary paperwork during construction. 13. Hold routine progress meetings with Village staff and Contractor to coordinate ongoing and scheduled work. 14. Ensure Contractor adheres to the project schedule. 15. Create a construction punch list and ensure all outstanding items are completed to the satisfaction of the Village. 16. Coordinate final inspection and paperwork with the Village. 17. Coordinate with ComEd to energize the electrical components at the end of the project. 18. Review and confirm as-built drawings.
