Renovation of a stadium in Los Angeles, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a stadium.
The project will improve the Los Angeles Tennis Center (LATC) from a Seismic Performance Rating of VI to at least IV to ensure compliance with the UC Seismic Safety Policy. Accessibility and code-compliance improvements triggered by the seismic work are included. The project also includes upgrades to address additional venue deficiencies. Seismic improvements include Adding grade beams and mat slab foundations with battered micropiles Thickening of concrete diaphragm slabs Adding concrete collector beams Strengthening precast tread-and-riser panel connections Accessibility and Code-compliance improvements include Accessibility upgrades to the west restrooms Providing new accessible seating Adding and replacing drinking fountains Adding, repairing, and replacing handrails and guardrails at stepped seat aisles and stairs Replacing the fire sprinkler backflow preventer and installing any missing signage required for the existing Fire Department Connection Additional venue-deficiency improvements include: Repairing leaks in Level 1 office space Replacing Level 1 trench drains to mitigate flooding during heavy rains. Pre-qualification requirements: Bidders must be prequalified and are required to have both a California B License (General Building) and A License (General Engineering). Only bidders who participate in the entire Mandatory Prequalification Conference will be allowed to submit prequalification documents and, if qualified, bid as prime contractors. Each bidder may be required to provide evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy, follow nondiscrimination requirements, and pay prevailing wages. The contractor must be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations and comply with all applicable labor laws. The University encourages the participation of small business enterprises (SBEs) and disabled veteran business enterprises (DVBEs). Only hard copy or UCLA Planroom website submittals of the Prequalification Questionnaire are accepted; other forms are invalid. Only the University's Prequalification Questionnaire and associated documents will be accepted.
