Remodeling of an educational facility in Yale, Michigan. Completed plans call for the remodel of a seven-room educational facility; six-room educational facility; and five-room educational facility.

Work shall include but not be limited to furnishing and installation of floor tile, base molding, adhesives, underlayment, and trim accessories; where applicable, removal of the existing carpeting, VCT tile, and base molding; and warranty of the installation for a period of not less than two years from date of acceptance. The contractor shall remove and dispose of old carpeting, tile, and base in accordance with all applicable ordinances, law, and regulation, and reinstall shoe molding after carpet installation if present. The contractor will prepare the floor to receive new products per the manufacturer's instructions, repairing minor holes, cracks, depressions, and rough areas. Where removed carpeting is to be replaced with vinyl floor tile, include the cost of a leveling course of floor stone. Installation of flooring shall use water-resistant, non-staining adhesives, as recommended by the manufacturer, that comply with flammability requirements. New rubber base shall be installed in all areas where tile abuts walls, columns, pilasters, casework, or other permanent fixtures, with a base thickness of .080. Tile colors shall be selected by the owner, and a manufacturer's standard size sample of materials showing a range of colors, textures, and patterns must be enclosed with the bid. Proof of Workers' Compensation and General Liability insurance is required. Contractor is responsible for all field measurements and square footage of tile, and must provide items of a minor nature not specifically listed to provide a complete owner-acceptable project. Instructions to bidders include: All material(s) must be asbestos free. Smoking or tobacco use is not allowed on school property. Sequencing of work will be coordinated between the owner and the contractor. The building staff will handle removal of furniture and fixtures. Bidders must indemnify and hold the district harmless from all liabilities attributable to the acts or failures of the contractor. For all proposals of $50,000 or more, security may be certified check, bank draft, irrevocable bank letter or credit, or surety bond. All bidders must be bondable and include the cost of furnishing Labor and Material Payment and Performance bonds each in the payable amount of 100% of the proposed bidding sum. Proof of insurance is required. Alternate products may be offered if equivalent or superior.
