The project includes the construction of a new one-story 35,000 square foot process facility with a two-story office buildout at 220 Freel Drive, Ames, IA 50010. Construction consists of a cladded pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) with areas of cast-in-place concrete interior walls of bearing with partial steel structural framing. Work includes interior wood and hollow metal doors, exterior aluminum storefront framing, entrances, windows, overhead doors, steel stud and gypsum board partitions and soffits, carpet and polished flooring, miscellaneous accessories, toilet partitions, finish carpentry, cabinetry, and process equipment. Fire suppression systems will include a two-zone system with both dry and wet types. Mechanical systems will include HVAC distribution and equipment, controls, plumbing systems, and site utility work. Bidders assume all risk associated with delivery of bids prior to the deadline. Plans and specifications are available at the City Clerk's office and through Beeline and Blue, either in person or via their online Plan Room. One set of bidding documents is available at no charge to prospective bidders, subcontractor bidders, suppliers, and contractor plan room services.
