The intent of these specifications is to define the requirements for Hydrated Lime as a Source of Supply from March 1, 2026, through February 28, 2027. All bids must be equal in performance and quality to the specifications. The materials specified will be utilized on an 'AS NEEDED BASIS' and should be available by the City of Meridian, without undue delay, for the twelve-month period, with an option for the city to award two additional one-year contracts. The hydrated lime must meet any applicable Underwriter Laboratories Inc. and AWWA Standard as a drinking water treatment additive, have a bulk density of approximately 30 lbs./cu. ft, be shipped in bulk with a pneumatic tanker truck, and be F.O.B. Meridian, MS to various job sites including all delivery, environmental, and fuel surcharges. Prices shall be good for the specified contract period. Bids shall be submitted on the provided bid form, sealed in an envelope with the company name and address, bid name and number, opening date, and certificate of responsibility marked on the outside. Each bid must be in a separate envelope if submitting more than one. Questions regarding the specifications must be made in writing. The entire bid package must be returned, and all bids must be signed by an authorized officer or agent in blue ink. Do not fax the bid submittal. Bidders must note compliance with specifications, explain any deviations, and submit MSDS literature. The total bid price must include all applicable fees. References for comparable work performed shall assist in evaluating bids. The City of Meridian reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive technicalities or irregularities, solicit new bids, or choose the bid deemed in the best interest of the City.
