Renovation of a mixed-use development in Meridian, Mississippi. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility; and office development.
The project consists of the renovation of an existing school campus into a new office complex for the Meridian Public School District. Work includes converting an existing cafeteria into a new boardroom and executive session office, which requires demolition of the existing building, construction of new restrooms for the boardroom, and routing new plumbing through an existing slab. Additional work involves painting several rooms, installing new flooring in various campus locations, and updating some sidewalks for improved ADA access to the boardroom. One building will require complete removal and replacement with a new TPO roofing system. The work also requires historic restoration of existing steel windows on the cafeteria and pressure washing the cafeteria and surrounding sidewalk. Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope, marked with the project name and number, addressed to the Superintendent of Schools. The envelope must also list the bidder’s company name, address, and all applicable state and local license and registration numbers. Bids not properly marked are at the bidder’s risk. Electronic bids may be submitted via the specified website. Proposals must be submitted in duplicate on provided forms and accompanied by proposal security in the form of a certified check or acceptable bid bond equal to at least 5% of the base bid. The owner will open bids publicly at the specified time and location and reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive irregularities. Bidders must be properly licensed and able to provide required insurance and bonds. The successful bidder must begin work upon receipt of the Notice to Proceed and complete it by the specified date, with liquidated damages applicable for delays.
