Separate sealed bids are requested for Parking Lot Resurfacing at the Southwestern Illinois Justice and Workforce Development Center (SIJWDC) - Belleville, IL. Bid documents are available by contacting the Purchasing Office. Campus visits to view the SIJWDC parking lots are by appointment only. The College reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any irregularities in bidding, and to accept the bid that best serves the interest of the college. There is no mandatory pre-bid meeting. A campus visit to view the SIJWDC parking lots is by appointment only. Contact the Purchasing Office at Purchasing@swic.edu to schedule. If you have any questions, please submit them in writing by emailing Purchasing@swic.edu. SIJWDC - Parking Lot Seal Coating and Striping - Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to apply three (3) coats of asphalt seal coat and restripe the parking lot(s) according to Owner provided layout as indicated on the project drawings and/or site walk. All work shall comply with applicable local, state, and federal regulations, including ADA requirements.\Contractor shall perform the following: 1. Clean all pavement surfaces of dirt, dust, debris, oil, vegetation, and loose materials. 2. Treat oil spots and petroleum-contaminated areas with approved primer or detergent prior to seal coating. 3. Fill cracks with hot-pour rubberized crack filler or approved equal. o Crack filler shall be applied in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations and allowed to properly cure prior to seal coating. 4. Barricade and protect adjacent concrete, curbs, sidewalks, buildings, and landscaping from overspray or tracking. 5. Restripe markings only after seal coat has fully cured. Seal Coating: Use a commercial-grade asphalt emulsion or refined tar-based seal coat approved for parking lot applications. o Mix and apply material per manufacturer's recommendations. Curing o Allow seal coat to cure sufficiently between coats and prior to opening pavement to traffic. o Maintain barricades and signage until surfaces are fully cured and safe for use. . Pavement Markings & Striping . Layout o Verify parking layout with Owner prior to striping. (Appendix 1) 2. Striping o Apply traffic-grade pavement marking paint or thermoplastic. o Stripe all parking stalls, drive aisles, fire lanes, loading zones, and directional arrows as shown on plans. o Standard stall lines shall be 4 inches wide unless otherwise specified. ADA Markings o Stripe all accessible parking spaces, access aisles, and pavement symbols in compliance with ADA standards Curb & Fire Lane Markings (if applicable) o Paint curbs and fire lanes where required by local fire code. Traffic Control & Safety 1. Provide temporary traffic control, barricades, cones, and signage as required. 2. Coordinate work to minimize disruption to facility operations. 3. Maintain safe access for pedestrians and emergency vehicles at all times. Cleanup & Closeout 1. Remove all excess materials, equipment, and debris from the site upon completion. 2. Leave site clean, safe, and ready for use. 3. Repair any damage to adjacent surfaces caused by seal coating operations.
