The work to be performed under this contract includes, but is not limited to, the following major items: installation, maintenance, and removal of traffic protection devices associated with the proposed vehicular detour for the project; installation, maintenance, and removal of soil erosion and sediment control devices as shown on the plans; coordination with all utilities for relocation of gas main, water main, fire hydrant, control cabinet, two utility poles with overhead power, telephone and cable television lines, with utility work performed by the respective utility companies; demolition and replacement of County Bridge No. L1014 with precast rigid frame on cast-in-place pedestals and spread footings, cast-in-place wingwalls, and cast-in-place parapets; construction of concrete approach slabs; installation of drainage improvements including new inlets and pipe; approach roadway reconstruction and installation of new beam guide rail and end terminals; and other incidental work provided for in the Contract Documents. Bidders must submit sealed bids with a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond amounting to ten percent of the total price bid, not to exceed $20,000, payable unconditionally to Somerset County Treasurer, along with a Certificate (Consent of Surety) with Power of Attorney for the full amount of the bid price from a Surety Company authorized to do business in the State of New Jersey, ensuring that said Surety will furnish a Performance and Payment Bond in amounts of 100% of the successful bidder's contract. Bidders shall comply with statutory requirements and be aware of all addenda issued on the County website. Instructions for obtaining Specifications and Plans/Drawings are provided, and hard copies may be requested for a fee.
