The project consists of an annual contract for sinkhole and sanitary sewer service lateral connection repairs for the City of Union City. The work includes furnishing all labor, tools, designated materials, and equipment necessary to complete the work as directed. The scope includes pavement removal; maintenance of street or other surfaces for the required period; soil erosion and sediment control; furnishing of traffic warning and control devices/equipment as required; all safety measures and equipment per OSHA and applicable regulations; sheeting, bracing and support of adjoining ground and trenches; handling drainage and groundwater removal; guarding the site; unloading, loading, hauling, distributing, laying and testing pipe and appurtenances; by-pass pumping as required; repair/replacement of sewer lateral(s) and other pipes and appurtenances as necessary; backfilling of trenches and pits; restoration of paved surfaces; removal of surplus excavated materials; pressure and leakage tests; site clean-up and restoration as required; TV camera inspections as directed; and temporary road plating as directed by the Engineer. Proposals must be submitted on the standard forms included, in sealed envelopes that display the name and address of the bidder and the project name, and must include a statement of consent of surety and either a bid bond or certified check for not less than ten percent of the amount bid, but not exceeding $20,000. The successful bidder must provide a performance bond and labor and material (payment) bond for the full amount of the project. Contractors must submit one original and two copies of the bid package in the same sealed envelope. Only bidders who have properly qualified and met the requirements will have their proposals accepted. The right is reserved to reject any or all bids, waive informalities, or abandon the project if necessary. Bidders must comply with all applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
