Demolition and site work for a water / sewer project in Newport News, Virginia. Completed plans call for the demolition of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.

The Virginia Port Authority (VPA) is seeking proposals for the demolition, dismantle, remove, and dispose of one (1) Ship to Shore (STS) CMI crane located at the Newport News Marine Terminal (NNMT) in Newport News, VA. The purpose of this Request for Proposals (RFP) is to solicit proposals from qualified Offerors to establish a Contract through competitive negotiations for the demolition, dismantle, removal, and disposal of one (1) Ship to Shore (STS) CMI crane located at the Newport News Marine Terminal (NNMT). CMI crane located at Newport News Marine Terminal, 25th St & Warwick Blvd. Newport News, VA 23607. Removal of the Crane to be completed by systematic dismantling, cut up, and haul off from their current location on the pier structure utilizing barges and / or trucks. Timeline: - Mobilization: mutually agreed upon date - Crane dismantling: Estimated 6-8 weeks - Site restoration: 1 week after completion - Project completion: within 90 days after Notice to Proceed (NTP) Questions may only be submitted electronically no later than 2:00 p.m. EST February 25, 2026. Responsibilities: Contractor: o Furnish all labor, supervision, equipment, materials, rigging, tools, transportation, and incidentals necessary for the safe demolition, dismantling, removal, and disposal of the existing crane, including all associated components, foundations (if applicable), and appurtenances. o Execution of all removal activities, safety compliance, and reporting. o All contractor vehicles entering the terminal must have the company placard in place. o The Offeror is responsible to secure all FAA and any other permits required for Demo and removal. o The Offeror is responsible for all fluid removal and must present a fluid removal plan to VPA for review and approval prior to removing fluids. o Offeror is responsible for any lighting required for the project. o If the Offeror prefers to move the crane for dismantling, then the Offeror will be responsible to move and secure crane to the agreed upon location and must present a plan to VPA for review and approval prior to moving crane. o Elevator on crane is not operational and cannot be used. o Walkways and ladders on the crane if needed should be used with caution. o Any man lift(s) required for the project will be the responsibility of the Offeror. Virginia Port Authority (VPA): o Provide site access, disconnecting the crane from shore power, and oversight. o VPA will review and have final approval prior to removing fluids. o VPA reserves the right to remove any components prior to the dismantling commencement. o VPA will assist with any mechanical / technical which may be helpful in moving the crane. o VPA will provide lighting which is already in place and in working order.
