This is a service / maintenance or supply contract in Merced, California. Contact the soliciting agency for additional information.
The City of Merced Engineering Department is accepting qualifications for Groundwater Monitoring Well and Municipal Well Sampling Services. The City of Merced (City) is soliciting qualifications to perform environmental groundwater sampling services for various sites in the City of Merced. The City sounds/samples groundwater monitoring wells associated with five (5) current or former dry cleaner facilities (herein after referred to as the PCE sites) on a semi-annual basis (2nd and 4th quarters). The groundwater samples are forwarded to a laboratory for analysis under an existing contract. The results of the laboratory analyses and other groundwater data are then forwarded to a separate consultant, also under an existing contract, to incorporate into quarterly groundwater monitoring reports for submittal to the Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB). The majority of the PCE sites’ wells are located in the City right-of-way. The total number of project wells exceeds 90 in number; however, historically dry wells are no longer sounded or sampled. Approximately forty-two (42) wells contain enough water to be consistently monitored. These wells’ sampling frequency varies from quarter to quarter and is subject to modification at any time. The wells are primarily two- or fourinch diameter (2” or 4”) PVC casings with depths varying approximately 40 – 220 feet below grade surface (bgs). Dedicated Waterra tubing is present in most of the wells. The City samples multiple municipal wells for groundwater investigations concerning PCE and MTBE. This sampling is performed at the wellhead from sampling ports under the supervision of Public Works Water Division and Water Quality Control Division (WQCD) staff. Several of the City’s municipal well sites have up to four (4) associated monitoring wells located at the same parcel and sampling these wells is also included in this effort. The monitoring wells are two-inch diameter (2”) casings with depths varying from 50 – 670 feet bgs. Samples are collected by WQCD staff for MTBE and PCE analysis, and the resultant data is reported to the City. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time. "Requests for proposals for design services is underway."
