Renovation of a multi-residential development in Merced, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a multi-residential development.
This project would renovate the existing den in Valley Terraces to create a functional mailroom to serve housing residents. The renovation includes installation of new casework, construction of a partial height wall to split the room, and infill of existing openings to create one unified space. The space will also require electrical modifications to accommodate a new printer, demolition of existing lighting, and installation of new LED lighting for the entire space. This work will occur on an active campus during the summer. Sealed bids for a lump-sum contract are invited for this work. Bidders must attend a mandatory pre-bid conference at Terrace Center. Bids must be received electronically before the specified deadline. A bid bond is not required. The successful bidder must have a current and active California contractor's license (classification B) at the time of bid submission. Requests for clarification must be submitted in writing by the specified deadline. Bidders may be required to show evidence of an equal employment opportunity policy. The successful bidder and its subcontractors must comply with nondiscrimination requirements and pay prevailing wage at the work location. The contractor is required to promote participation of small business enterprises and disabled veteran business enterprises. All contractors and subcontractors must be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations, and the project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department. The successful bidder must pay all persons providing construction services on site no less than the UC Fair Wage ($15 per hour) and comply with all applicable federal, state, and local working condition requirements. Question Deadline 03/16/2026 Requests for clarification or interpretation of the Bidding Documents must be received by this date. Questions shall be submitted to Sara Anastos at contracts@ucmerced.edu.
