Demolition for a municipal facility in Watertown, New York. Completed plans call for the demolition of a municipal facility.

The City of Watertown is seeking sealed bids from qualified bidders for the abatement and demolition of the structure located at 531 Bradley Street, Watertown, New York, per City specifications. The successful contractor will provide all labor, materials, machinery, tools, equipment, and other means necessary and incidental to complete the work. All demolition is to be completed within 30 days after Notification to Proceed, with a penalty of $150 per day for work not completed by the deadline (excluding Sundays and Holidays). Bidders must have a minimum of 5 years of residential or commercial demolition experience, and provide documentation of this experience with the bid. Waste disposal/tipping fees will be the responsibility of the City, but the contractor is responsible for all on-site waste handling and transportation to the landfill. The contractor shall also secure the demolition site with appropriate fencing, comply with OSHA regulations, and maintain proper safety apparel for all personnel. The project must be completed within 60 days from Notification to Proceed. Bids must be submitted in the prescribed forms, in a sealed and clearly marked envelope. All bids must include a performance bond for 100% of the accepted bid amount, and insurance with a principal office in New York State or authorization to do business in New York State. The City reserves the right to waive any informality, to reject any or all bids, and to require evidence of experience, qualifications, and financial responsibility from bidders. All demolition must occur during normal working hours unless otherwise approved, and the awarded contractor is responsible for traffic control and protecting the pavement surface. The City encourages participation by MWBE suppliers, contractors, and businesses. Equal opportunity will be given without discrimination.
