The project generally consists of the replacement of existing concrete curb with granite block curb, reconstruction of concrete driveway aprons, and ADA curb ramp improvements on Briar Hill Drive, Nob Hill Court, Country Lane, and Meadow Court in Manalapan, New Jersey. All storm sewer inlets within the project limits shall be reconstructed and retro-fitted with bicycle safe grates and Type ‘N' ECO castings as required by the Tier “A” Municipal Stormwater Regulations. Approximate construction quantities for significant bid items include 8,350 LF of granite block curb, 50 LF of 8' x 18” concrete vertical curb, 650 SY of concrete driveways, 100 SY of concrete sidewalk, and 1,400 LF of 6” HDPE pipe. Bids must be furnished on the proposal sheets included in the Contract Documents, enclosed in a sealed envelope, and addressed to the Mayor and Township Committee, Township of Manalapan, New Jersey, and plainly marked on the outside with the name and address of the bidder and the Contract Number and Title. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check of not less than ten percent of the bid payable without any conditional endorsement as a guarantee that in case the contract is awarded to the bidder, he will within ten days thereafter execute such contract and furnish satisfactory performance bond. Upon failure to do so, he shall forfeit the bid security as liquidated damages and the acceptance of the bid will be contingent upon the fulfillment of this requirement by the bidder. A bid bond in the amount of ten percent of the bid may be substituted for certified check, except the amount of the bid security shall not be less than $500.00 nor more than $20,000.00. Each bid must be accompanied by a Certificate of Experience and Certificate of Equipment and a certificate of Consent of Surety from a bonding company licensed to do business in the State of New Jersey. The Township reserves the right to increase or decrease quantities specified in the manner designated in the Specifications and to award the contract based on funds available. Bidders are required to comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including the Americans with Disabilities Act, Affirmative Action, Business Registration, Prevailing Wage Act, Worker Health and Safety Act, and OSHA. No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of sixty days after the date set for the opening thereof.
