The work of providing labor, equipment, and material for the Town of Vredenburg Sewer System Infrastructure Improvements, Contract No. 4 - Sewer Lift Station Upgrade The principal items of work are detailed herein below: 1. Remove and Replace Two (2) Submersible Pumps; Guide Rails and Control Panel 2. Remove and Replace Check Valves and Plug Valves 3. Provide Temporary Bypass Pumping 4. Install Emergency Bypass Piping Assembly. A. Item Number 1 in the Proposal Form is Lump Sum and shall include: 1. Raw sewage pumps; motors and guide rail 2. Level controls 3. Control panel 4. Portable hoist/winch 5. Valves - check and plug valves 6. Miscellaneous metals (i.r. Access Hatch and Hinged Safety Grate; etc) 7. Piping & Fittings 8. Electrical (Including Connection for Portable Generator Hook-Up; Primary Power Connections to Control Panels) 9. Required equipment labor and materials for items 1 thru 8 B. Item Number 7 is for the use of Class B concrete for bracing; and misc. structures (if needed). C. Item Number 4 is the allowance ser aside for the contractor to request the local Power Company to install a primary service to the Lift Station Site. The Contract may be awarded to the lowest and responsive Bidder. The successful bidder must furnish a Performance Bond for one hundred (100%) of the bid amount and a Payment Bond for one hundred (100%) percent of the bid amount and must secure his bond from a bonding company's representative or agent in the State of Alabama. The Contractor is hereby advised that TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE on this project and that the contract time of 90 consecutive calendar days total and noted restrictions shall be strictly observed. LIQUIDATED DAMAGES WILL BE ASSESSED IF CONTRACT TIME IS EXCEEDED. The Contractor may apply for an extension of time in accordance with the provisions of the contract; however, such an extension must be approved prior to the contract completion date to avoid the imposition of liquidated damages. No bid may be withdrawn after the time for opening bids has passed. The Owner reserves the right to hold the bids for a period of sixty (60) days after the date of receiving the Bids. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in any bid, and to accept any bid considered advantageous to the Owner. Doc Notes: No refunds will be made except to Prime Contractor Bidders, which shall be refunded for one bid set. DBE/MBE Participation: 2.5% ; WBE- Goal: 3.0% Question Deadline 02/27/2026 All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be submitted to Engineer in writing. Questions received less than ten days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered. Only questions answered by Addenda will be binding. Oral and other interpretations or clarifications will be without legal effect.
