Site work and new construction of an educational facility in Portage, Michigan. Completed plans call for the construction of a educational facility.
A. The Project consist of partial demo of Amberly elementary school and associated work shown in the drawings, specs and scopes of work. B. The Instructions to Bidders, Project Manual, Request for Proposals, dated February 3, 2026 , issued by owner, General Conditions AIA A232-2019, General Requirements and Owner-Contractor Agreements, are a part of all divisions and all contract documents. The order of precedence for interpretation shall be the Agreement between Owner and Contractor, RFP, the Instruction to Bidders, the Project Manual, the General Conditions and the Contractor's Proposal. Execution of the Contract signifies that the Contractors are fully knowledgeable with all requirements of all divisions and documents. No claims for additional compensation will be entertained or paid to any Contractor on account of its failure to be fully informed of all requirements of all Contract Documents. Sealed bids, in triplicate, for the Amberly Elementary Bid Package 1 and Portage Public Schools, will be received at the specified locations and times. Bids received after the deadline will not be considered or accepted. All proposals received by the deadline will be opened and read publicly. Bids may be mailed to the specified office address and must be received before the deadline; faxed, emailed, or electronically uploaded bids will not be accepted. Each bid must be accompanied by a sworn and notarized Familial Disclosure Statement disclosing any familial relationship between the Owner or any employee of the Bidder and any member of the District's Board of Education or the Superintendent of the District. A construction pre-bid meeting will be held and all bidders are encouraged to attend. The bidding documents may be examined at designated locations and online. Bidders must be reputable, recognized organizations with at least five years' successful experience on similar work, have required licenses, and have sufficient financial resources. Each bid must include sufficient bid security or bid bond of at least 5% of the bid amount. The successful Bidder must secure Performance, Labor, and Material bonds for all contracts exceeding $50,000 from a surety company with a rating of A- or better, for the full contract amount.
