Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in South San Francisco, California. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; for paving for a playground / park / athletic field; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

The Project includes, but is not limited to: The proposed project includes demolition of the existing 0.32-acre parking lot at 700, vacant lot at 616 Linden Avenue and an approximately 100-foot section of Pine Avenue, and the construction of a new neighborhood park. The new park will contain a plaza/outdoor event space, lawns, picnic areas, play structures, a fitness and games area, stub ups for a potential restroom, new parking areas, new one way lane, new lighting and landscaping. Bidders are solely and exclusively responsible for submitting such inquiries or clarification requests The City will not respond to any bidder inquiries or clarification requests, unless such inquiries or clarification requests are submitted timely to: online. The bidder is notified that a Site Management Plan (SMP) for the site is included in the bid documents. The SMP describes the protocol to be implemented during construction activities that may encounter the contained contaminated soil. The successful bidder shall be responsible for initiating, maintaining and supervising all safety precautions and programs in connection therewith. Each bid submittal must be accompanied by Cash, cashier's check or certified check, payable to the order of the City of South San Francisco, of not less ten percent (10%) of the bid or a bond in said amount, payable to the City of South San Francisco and signed by the bidder as well as a corporate surety, shall accompany the bid. Scan and upload a copy of your bid bond / cashier's check as part of electronic bid submittal through Open Gov. Bidder must also MAIL bid guarantee with a post mark date no later than the date of bid opening. Mail Bid Guarantee to: City of South San Francisco, City Hall, 400 Grand Avenue, South San Francisco, CA 94080. The amount so posted shall be forfeited to said City if the bidder does not enter into a contract with the City within ten (10) calendar days after Notice of Award. The City of South San Francisco shall have the right to hold all bid bonds until award of the contract. However, the Finance Director may order the return of all bid bonds except that of the two (2) lowest bidders prior to the award. No Bidder may withdraw their bid for a period of ninety (90) calendar days from the date of opening of the bids for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the qualifications of Bidders, prior to awarding of the contract. Any bid withdrawal before the expiration of such time period shall result in the forfeiture of Bidder's Bid Bond. In the event of a bid mistake resulting from a clerical error made by the Bidder, withdrawal of such bid without forfeiture of the Bid Bond may only be allowed if the criteria set forth in California Public Contracts Code Sec. 5103 are met and the procedures set forth therein are followed; any such approval by City of South San Francisco of bidders request to withdraw bid shall be at the sole discretion of the City of South San Francisco. Checks shall be made payable to "The City of South San Francisco". Bonds shall be executed by a surety possessing a valid certificate of authority issued by the California Department of Insurance and shall name the City of South San Francisco as beneficiary Bidder's attention is directed to those provisions of the contract documents which require the Contractor to whom the contract for work is awarded, to file with the Owner at the time the contract is executed, a Contractor's Labor and Material Payment Bond ("Contractor's Payment Bond") and a Contractor's Performance Bond meeting all the requirements of the contract documents and approved by the City Attorney of the City of South San Francisco. Bonds shall be executed by a surety possessing a valid certificate of authority issued by the California Department of Insurance and shall name the City of South San Francisco as beneficiary. The Contractor's Performance Bond shall be for 100% of the contract price. The Contractor's Labor and Material Payment Bond shall be for 100% of the contract price. All prospective bidders are hereby cautioned that the State of California Contractor's Law regulates license requirements for bidding various types of projects. This project can be bid by a contractor possessing, at the time of bid submittal, a valid Class A California Contractor's License ("License"). The Owner reserves the right to reject a bid if the bidder has not submitted a Statement of Qualifications as set forth in the contract documents prior to the date of the opening of the bids or with the bid proposal. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to waive any informalities in the bid. Bids may be held by the City of South San Francisco for a period not to exceed onehundred twenty (120) days from the date of the opening of bids for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the qualifications of the bidders prior to awarding the Contract.
