Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in South San Francisco, California. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

The City of South San Francisco is soliciting bids for the Safe Routes to School 2026 (Project No. ST2507, Bid No. 2709). This project will make improvements within the public right of way around Alta Loma, Buri Buri, Parkway Heights, and Ponderosa schools, with a focus on enhancing pedestrian and bicycle safety for children traveling to and from school. The work includes the construction of new roadway improvements, including curb ramps, roundabouts, raised crosswalks, curb extensions, and associated amenities. EPV approximately $3.5M-$4M. The City is seeking experienced Class A General Engineering or Class C-8 Contractors capable of delivering high-quality roadway and roadside improvements with a focus on maintaining safe access and appropriate traffic control within an active urban setting. The project presents an opportunity to partner with the City in implementing meaningful safety improvements that support the safety of children around schools in South San Francisco. The work consists of pedestrian and bike safety improvements located at neighboring streets adjacent to Buri Buri, Alta Loma, Parkway Heights and Ponderosa Schools, South San Francisco, CA. A detailed scope of work is included in the bid documents. The Contractor shall be responsible to furnish all labor, material, tools, equipment, incidentals and services necessary to complete all the work as specified and in accordance with the plans and specifications for the Safe Routes to School 2026 project. At the time of contract award, the successful Bidder must be legally entitled to perform contracts requiring a Class A Contractor's license. Any Bidder or contractor not so licensed shall be subject to all penalties imposed by law including, but not limited to, any appropriate disciplinary action by the Contractors' State License Board. The amount so posted shall be forfeited to said City if the bidder does not enter into a contract with the City within ten (10) calendar days after Notice of Award. The City of South San Francisco shall have the right to hold all bid bonds until award of the contract. However, the Finance Director may order the return of all bid bonds except that of the two (2) lowest bidders prior to the award. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids as the best interests of the City may dictate and, to the extent permitted by law, waive any informality or minor irregularity in any bid. If there is any reason for believing that collusion exists among the bidders, the City may reject any or all bids.
