For the Blue Ridge Community College Bat Fork Floodplain Restoration. The goal of this project is the restoration of approximately 1,500 linear feet of stream channel and linear wetland and the planting of 2.2 acres of native riparian plants along Bat Fork Creek at the Blue Ridge Community College Campus. Construction work will consist of removing existing storm sewer pipes and structures, daylighting an unnamed tributary to Bat Fork Creek with appropriate dimension, pattern, and profile utilizing the plans/specifications in the attached engineered drawings. Extend existing wetland areas and improve floodplain function along Bat Fork Creek at locations shown on engineered drawings. The streambanks and disturbed areaswill be stabilized with seed, straw mulch, erosion control matting, and native shrubs and trees. The stream bed will be enhanced with structures noted in the engineered drawings to maintain bedform and habitat features. Please see Attachment I for engineered plans. Construction services must conform to the specifications provided and will be awarded based upon the lowest responsive responsible bidder standard.
