Renovation of a fire / police facility in Davie, Florida. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility.
The Town of Davie would like to invite you to submit a bid for ITB# RS-26-08 Fire Station 38 Men's Restroom and Shower Renovation. The purpose is to secure a qualified General Contractor licensed in the State of Florida to perform upgrades to the existing Fire Station 38 men's restroom and shower facilities located at 6905 Orange Drive, Davie FL 33314. The services include furnishing adequate and appropriate labor, machines, materials, supplies, equipment, tools, supervision, insurance, permits, and incidentals required for the project. All work must meet or exceed the standards of the industry for workmanship. Bidders are required to attend a mandatory pre-bid conference and site visit to be eligible to respond, and must sign in prior to the start of the conference. Failure to attend or sign in before the meeting commences will render the bidder ineligible to respond to the solicitation. Question Deadline 03/09/2026 at 5:00 PM ET - Questions regarding this solicitation shall be submitted in the project Q&A section The estimated budget for this project is $90,000 A. This project consists of completing upgrades to FS 38 men's restroom and shower facility to include an ADA shower conversion, an ADA restroom conversion, removing and installing new drains, new fixtures, new stall partitions, new countertops, and installing SEMCO SEAMLESS STONE FINISH(R) surface product over the shower and water closet floors, walls, and shower ceilings. There is an Add Alternate to install SEMCO on the remaining restroom floor and walls. B. The work includes all necessary prep/leveling work required prior to the application of the SEMCO SEAMLESS STONE FINISH(R) on the walls, ceilings, and floor surfaces where applicable. The Town's Project Manager shall approve prep work and color selection prior to installation of the specified SEMCO SEAMLESS STONE FINISH(R). The Contractor shall remove all existing fixtures. The Contractor shall coordinate with the Town Project Manager which fixtures the Town will retain and which ones the Contractor shall to dispose of prior to demolition. C. Pricing shall be priced at unit cost, as listed in the bid form, to include all labor, machines, materials, supplies, equipment, tools, supervision, insurance, and incidentals. All materials utilized shall be new. All materials, parts, and sundries utilized shall conform to manufacturers' recommendations and be compliant with existing systems. The Town specifically reserves the right to accept all or any part of the bid, to increase or decrease the quantity to meet additional or reduced requirements of the Town, without such change affecting the contract unit price set forth in the bid form by the bidder. D. It is the intent of the Town to award a single contractor based on the lowest responsive responsible bidder. E. The base price included in the Bid Form for the SEMCO installation includes the two (2) water closets, floors and walls, and three (3) showers: floors, shower walls, shower thresholds, and shower ceilings. 1. An authorized/certified Semco subcontractor shall install Semco product to all water closets and showers. See SEMCO PREPARATION AND EXECUTION below. F. ADD ALTERNATE: The Bid Form adds the SEMCO installation throughout the entire restroom not including water closets and showers that SEMCO installation previously mentioned: 1. An authorized/certified Semco subcontractor shall install Semco product to the inside walls and floor of the restroom not including the water closets and showers mentioned above. See SEMCO PREPARATION AND EXECUTION below. ADA SHOWER CONVERSION: 1. The Town of Davie Building Division requires that all plumbing work be completed by a licensed plumbing contractor to install the shower controls and accessories at the location and elevation required by the latest Florida Building Code, Accessibility, latest Edition. The Contractor shall convert the existing two (2) furthest east water closets into an ADA shower and meet current ADA building permit requirements. a. DEMOLITION: i. The Contractor shall remove the existing toilet partitions in the men's restroom and return them to Town. ii. The Contractor shall remove fixtures to create an ADA shower on the east most wall. The Contractor shall make all necessary plumbing accommodations for the ADA shower to ensure adequate drainage per all current codes. b. RENOVATION: i. The Contractor shall repair the floor and east wall and install a gypsum wall partition board 6" above ceiling to underside of the deck with minimum level 2 finish to separate the new ADA Shower from the new ADA restroom and install an ADA shower per drawings. ii. If found during demolition, the Contractor shall remove and repair any section of damaged drywall and metal stud at shower entrance, approximately four (4) feet above existing floor elevation. Any additional work will need to be approved by the Town prior to proceeding. iii. The Contractor shall install new pan liner with new mortar bed, new floor drain in the shower, new shower pan, a new shower head, shower niche, an ADA bench, and grab bars. I. Shower niche shall fit between studs with a depth of about 3.5-4 inches with crucial 2% slope downward tilt on the bottom shelf of the niche, created with thinset or the niche's design, and ensuring adequate waterproofing. iv. The contractor shall install one (1) new linear drain at the entrance of the ADA shower, as per Permitting Set. v. The Contractor shall prepare the area directly in front of the shower entrance for smooth ADA compliant transition with Semco product throughout floor with appropriate slope towards drains with ADA accessibility per latest codes and ordinances. I. If Add Alternate included in scope, the Semco product shall have smooth transition from ADA Shower to the restroom floor. vi. The new ADA shower interior shall be prepped for the Semco installation. A certified Semco subcontractor shall install Semco product throughout the ADA Shower to include face, walls, ceiling, and floor of the ADA shower.
