Site work and paving for a road / highway in Ames, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a 746-square-foot road / highway.
The general nature of the work on which bids are requested is: 731.3 SY of Pavement Removal, 746.3 SY of 7" PCC Pavement, 370 LF of Footing Drain Collector PVC 6", 750 SY of Subgrade Preparation 12" Depth, 750 SY of Special Backfill 6" Depth and miscellaneous related work and appurtenances in accordance with the contract documents Bids must be submitted using the Proposal Form furnished by the City, in a sealed and plainly marked envelope. Each bid must be accompanied by bid security as defined in Code of Iowa Section 26.8. The successful bidder must provide a corporate surety bond for 100% of the contract price. Work must be completed by the designated contract completion date, with liquidated damages of $1,000 per calendar day for failure to complete on time. The contractor should not include sales or use taxes in the bid. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities.
