Remodeling of an educational facility in Storrs Mansfield, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the remodel of a educational facility.
This project entails the installation of UConn provided LVT flooring in North Campus following abatement of existing asbestos floor tiles. The Contractor will patch and repair subflooring following abatement and install new flooring in accordance with manufacturer's specifications. Bidders must submit a Cost Proposal using the provided Form. The lowest responsible Bidder will be required to provide financial documentation demonstrating the ability to complete a construction project with a minimum value of at least $600,000. All Bidders must detail previous relevant experience, preferably with three examples of similar flooring projects valued at approximately $350,000 or more, and provide resumes for key personnel (Project Superintendent and Project Manager) assigned to the project. Required documents with the bid include: - SEEC Form 10 - Bidder Contract Compliance Monitoring Report - Supplier Diversity Certificate (if applicable) - Bid security (10% of bid amount for over $50,000, with specified requirements for alternative forms) - Bonding capacity letter for at least the Total Bid Amount The Contractor must self-perform at least 10% of the Total Contract Price. Additionally, 30% of the contract price must be awarded to certified Small Business Enterprises (SBEs), and 10% to certified Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs), as per Connecticut Department of Administrative Services guidelines. The Contractor is responsible for ensuring all selected subcontractors meet state certification requirements and must demonstrate good faith efforts to comply with these goals.
