A timeline for the award has not yet been established.** The City of Lakeland - Lakeland Linder International Airport (LAL) is requesting proposals for services of a qualified and experienced, state certified Roofing Contractor, registered and licensed in the State of Florida, to provide all labor, material, permitting, equipment, supervision and administration to integrate the work outlined in the provided scope of work for the roof replacement project at 3600 Drane Field Road, Lakeland, FL 33811. All Questions regarding this request for proposals shall be in writing and submitted electronically via the Portal through the Question and Answer tab before 5:00 pm on Wednesday, March 4, 2026. Responses will be released on the Question and Answer Tab. Project Summary: Remove and replace the existing metal roof on the designated hangar with a new Galvalume Metal Panel Roof System, including required ventilation components and replacement of the gutter system while retaining existing downspouts. Work must follow industry standards, manufacturer specifications, and all applicable airport safety regulations. Work Requirements A. Mobilization & Safety o Coordinate access and staging with airport staff. o Follow OSHA and airport safety protocols, including fall protection and escort/badging (if required). o Protect aircraft, vehicles, tenant property, and adjacent structures from debris or damage. B. Permits & Inspections o Contractor shall obtain and pay for all required permits, inspections, and approvals needed to perform the work in compliance with local/state building codes. o Contractor shall coordinate inspections and provide documentation of permit closure upon completion. C. Removal & Disposal o Remove existing metal roof panels, flashing, fasteners, ventilation components, and gutter system (downspouts to remain). o Dispose of debris off-site per environmental and local regulations. D. Substructure Assessment o Inspect decking/purlins and gutter mounting surfaces for damageInstallation of New Roof System o Install 24-gauge Galvalume metal panels. o Provide and install: Ridge caps, eave/rake trim, closure strips, drip edges High-temp synthetic underlayment Corrosion-resistant fasteners compatible with Galvalume Flashing at penetrations (vents/HVAC/ducting) o Ensure weatherproofing and proper water run-off alignment into the gutter system. F. Ventilation Components o Furnish and install necessary roof ventilation o Ensure ventilation is balanced and in accordance with manufacturer guidelines for metal roofing systems. G. Gutter System Replacement (Retaining Downspouts) o Remove existing gutters and replace with new gutters compatible with the new roof. o Existing downspouts to remain in place and be reused. o Work to include: Gutter hangers, brackets, straps, and hardware Proper slope for positive drainage Alignment and connection to existing downspouts H. Quality Assurance o Final inspection and joint/fastener/sealant check. o Confirm gutter-to-downspout fit and drainage. o Correct deficiencies prior to closeout. I. Cleanup o Remove all debris from worksite, created by contractors. o Return work area to original condition or better.
