The work consists of site and facility improvements for the entrance and Visitor Building at Fox Lake Correctional Institution. Interior improvements are approximately 4,000 SF and include a restroom and vestibule renovation to achieve ADA compliance, flooring and ceiling replacement, new guard stations, and relocated vending in the Visiting Area. Exterior improvements include site grading, a retaining wall replacement, and new ADA compliant concrete sidewalk and ramp. All potential bidders must be certified by the Department of Administration prior to submitting bids on state construction projects over $100,000. Bids from non-certified contractors will be rejected. Sealed bids must be delivered to the indicated location or submitted via the eBuilder Bid Portal before the specified time. Bid opening will be conducted via Microsoft Teams. A bid guarantee in the amount of 10% of the bid must accompany each bid submitted. The project is being let using the single prime bidding and contracting process, with separate identification and inclusion of successful MEP bids in all general prime contractor bids. A non-mandatory pre-bid tour is scheduled, and completion of the Facility Security Clearance Background Check form is required for attendance. Prior approval is required for all equipment and tools needed to collect information inside Secure Areas during the pre-bid tour. Bidding documents are available as electronic files.
