Site work for a water / sewer project in East Dundee, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The work consists of the replacement of the 12-inch diameter water main from the standpipe to the distribution main across Barrington Avenue by means of open-cut and trenchless methods. The project length is approximately 400 feet. The contractor is required to pay prevailing wages not less than those established under Davis-Bacon Wage Act provisions as determined by the U.S. Department of Labor. All bids must be accompanied by a bidder's bond, certified check, bank cashier's check or bank draft payable to the Village of East Dundee for five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid. The procurement is subject to regulations including the Public Water Supply Loan Program, Davis-Bacon Act, Employment of Illinois Workers on Public Works Act, Illinois Works Jobs Program Act Apprenticeship Initiative, Disadvantaged Business Enterprise policy, and "Use of American Iron and Steel" requirements. Bidders are required to comply with Executive Order No. 11246, and undertake specified affirmative efforts at least sixteen days prior to bid opening as outlined in the specifications. The Village of East Dundee is exempt from certain state and local taxes, and bid prices should not include these costs. The Board of Trustees reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities. Contract award shall be made to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder unless all bids are rejected for good cause.
