Site work for a water / sewer project in Berne, Indiana. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The work includes installation of approximately 2,065 linear feet of 6-inch C900 PVC water main by open cut, 550 linear feet of 8-inch C900 PVC water main by open cut, 735 linear feet of 6-inch C900 CertaLok PVC water main by horizontal directional drilling, 300 linear feet of 8-inch C900 CertaLok PVC water main by horizontal directional drilling, 760 linear feet of 8-inch HDPE water main by horizontal directional drilling, 45 linear feet of 8-inch HDPE water main by open cut, 50 linear feet of 4-inch C900 PVC water main by open cut, new ADA-compliant sidewalks, valves, hydrants, service lines, pavement repair, cleanup and site restoration, maintenance of traffic, and all other work necessary for a complete installation. The project also includes hydro-excavation investigation of approximately 19 customer-side water service lines to identify material, size, and depth, and replacement of identified lead and galvanized pipe downstream of lead for utility-side only or full water service line replacements, with 88 lead service line replacements anticipated. Work consists of connecting to existing or new water mains, installation of water service lines, new curb stops, confirmation of electrical grounding, repairing pavement, surface repair, maintenance of traffic, and incidental work for complete installation. Bids must be executed on State Board of Accounts Form 96 (Revised 2013), include a financial statement, and be accompanied by a bid security not less than 5% of the total bid price. Bidders must comply with relevant Indiana statutes, E-Verify, employee drug testing plans, and provide required bonds and insurance. There are MBE and WBE participation goals of 7% and 5% respectively. Only unqualified or conditional bids will be rejected. Award will be made to the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder, subject to final approval. The Owner reserves the right to waive minor informalities or defects, or to reject any or all bids.
