The project consists of removing the existing oil & chip parking lot and curb and gutter. The parking lot will be replaced with PCC pavement. Various items that are included are earth excavation, subgrade preparation, aggregate base, PCC paving, curb & gutter, storm sewer, site lighting, striping, seeding, landscaping, and other appurtenance. Prevailing wages in accordance with Coles County is required. Bid security is required, in the form of a bid bond or certified check in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the base bid as guarantee that the bid will not be withdrawn within 30 days after the date of opening of bids, and that the successful bidder will enter into a Contract for the work awarded to them. Bonds are required: Both a Performance Bond and a Labor and Payment Bond are required for this project, each in an amount equal to 100% of the contract price. Your Bid will be required to be submitted under a condition of irrevocability for a period of 30 days after submission. The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all Bids or any part thereof, to waive any informality in bidding, and to accept bids deemed most favorable to the owner. Alt. Bid #1: The scope of work consists of providing additional site lighting. Existing poles will be removed and replaced with new lights, poles and concrete bases. Additional work includes replacing sidewalks, new electric wiring, and other appurtenances.
