The project includes all work incidental to the supply and laying of approximately 134,868 square yards of single chip seal, to be paid for by the square yard, approximately 13,444 square yards of double chip seal, to be paid by the square yard, and 13,444 square yards of prime coat, using MC-30, over newly upgraded aggregate surfaces to be paid for by the square yard. Bids must be submitted on a form provided by the County, in a sealed envelope, and deposited in the office of the Finance Director by the specified time. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond, cashier's check, or certified check for an amount not less than five percent of the bid amount. Proof of ability to properly execute the project and a record of successful completion of similar projects may be required. The County reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to advertise for new bids, and to defer acceptance of any proposal for up to forty-five days after bids are opened. The successful bidder shall file certificates of workmen's compensation, liability, property damage, and builder's risk insurance in specified amounts for the duration of the contract and comply with prevailing wage laws.
