Renovation of an educational facility in Montclair, New Jersey. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

The scope of work includes: interior renovations and technology upgrades to existing classrooms, such as new wall finishes, floor finishes, millwork, suspended acoustic ceiling, and lighting fixtures; interior renovations and equipment upgrades to the existing multipurpose space, including replacement of equipment that is beyond its useful life, refinishing the existing stage floor, installation of a new rubber multi-purpose gym floor system, new basketball backboards, and replacement of the existing room divider; building electrical service upgrades and classroom mechanical upgrades, including new transformer and electrical panels, installation of new high efficiency HVAC systems, classroom unit ventilators, air handlers, packaged heating and cooling systems, and/or split systems; repairs of existing roof drains and gutters tied into the stormwater management system. At least twenty percent of the total scope of work must be performed by the bidder or the bidder's named subcontractors who are certified as a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE), Women's Business Enterprise (WBE), or Small Business Enterprise (SBE) by a certifying Federal or State agency. Bidders must be pre-qualified by the New Jersey Department of Treasury, Division of Property Management and Construction (DPMC) in one of the following categories: (C008) General Construction or (C009) General Construction/Alterations/Additions. Bidders must also be pre-qualified for, or include documentation for prequalified subcontractors for: (C029) Structural Steel and Ornamental Iron, (C032) HVACR, (C030) Plumbing, (C047) Electrical. If not classified for (C092) Asbestos Removal/Treatment, an appropriate subcontractor must be retained. Bids proposing modifications to requirements will be rejected. Bidders must comply with state and federal equal employment opportunity requirements, submit a statement of ownership, be registered public works contractors, and provide business registration and relevant certifications as required by law. Bid security and consent of surety are required, and additional bonds must be furnished by the successful bidder as specified. The bid must be for a lump sum price for the entire project, all trades, all inclusive.
