The Township of Montclair is soliciting bids for Life Safety Improvements of Clary Anderson Arena. The work contemplated under this contract shall be completed within 90 days after Notice to Proceed. Bids shall be made upon the prescribed forms, must be accompanied by a Consent of Surety, a certified check, cashier's check, or Bid Bond of not less than ten percent of the amount bid and not to exceed $20,000. The successful bidder shall furnish a performance and payment bond in the amount of 100 percent of the accepted bid, and the required policies or Certificates of Insurance. Bids must include a non-collusion affidavit, ownership statement compliance form, and, for corporations not chartered in New Jersey, certification of authorization to do business in the state. The contractor must not be debarred from contracting with any federal government agency. Compliance with equal employment opportunity requirements, disclosure of partners and stockholders, the New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act, and the Public Works Contractor Registration Act is required. If the lowest bid is 10 percent or more below the next lowest bid, certification that prevailing wage rates will be paid must be provided. All bids shall remain irrevocable for sixty days. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive informalities or irregularities, and accept the lowest, responsive, and responsible bid. The project consists of the repairs, and expansion of the life safety systems at Clary Anderson arena. The extent of the work is shown on construction drawings, and these specifications include, but are not limited to fire alarm repairs and expansion, fire protection repairs and expansion.
