The work includes, but is not limited to, site improvements, signage, concrete, structural steel, carpentry, roofing, interior doors and windows, finishes, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical. The following DPMC-Classified Trade Subcontractors are required: Structural Steel and Ornamental Iron, Plumbing/Gas Fitting and all kindred work, Heating/Ventilation/Air Conditioning and Refrigeration and Equipment (HVACR), and Electrical. Bidders must be pre-qualified and bids must include a certified check, cashier's check, or Bid Bond in the amount of ten percent of the Base Bid, not to exceed $20,000, along with an executed Consent of Surety. Performance Bond, Payment Bond, and a two-year Maintenance Bond in the amount of one hundred percent of the contract amount are required. Contracts obligate contractors and subcontractors to pay Prevailing Wages, comply with equal opportunity and Affirmative Action laws, provide ownership disclosure, comply with New Jersey Business Registration laws, and follow all applicable state and grant requirements. Bids must be submitted in hard copy to the designated address and will not be accepted electronically. The project will be constructed with a phased construction schedule that may include after school hours work/second shift, and the building will be accessible to contractors 24 hours per day, seven days a week during the construction period. Long-lead shop drawings must be initiated immediately after the Notice to Proceed. Additional requirements include compliance with State of New Jersey Public School Contract Law and all instructions provided in the bidding documents.
