The work in general consists of site preparation, demolition, grading, and construction of parking lots, maintenance roads, pathways, drainage and utility improvements; installation of concrete flatwork, curbs, seat walls, stamped concrete, fencing, gates, and a culvert bridge; construction of play areas with fall surfacing, sports courts including basketball and pickleball, site furnishings, signage, and solar lighting; landscape planting, turf, irrigation, and a design-build irrigation well; hydroseeding; and related appurtenant work at Friendship Park. Other such items or details not mentioned above that are required by the standard specifications or these special provisions shall be performed, placed, constructed, or installed. If contractor proposes an alternate to specified material or furnishings, an 'or equal' substitution must be pre-approved prior to submittal of bid. Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified cashier's check, or bid bond, in the amount of 10 percent of the total bid price, payable to Yuba County Department of Public Works, as a guarantee that the bidder, if its bid is accepted, will promptly execute the Agreement. The bidder shall guarantee the total bid price for a period of 60 days from the date of the bid opening. The County reserves the right after opening the bids to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in a bid or bid submittal, and to award to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, as it may best serve the interests of the County.
