Reference Number 0000414227 Pre-qualification of contractors for future solicitations for Aurora Water Purification Facilities fire suppression replacements projects. Aurora Water intends to undertake a facility-wide replacement of existing water-based fire sprinkler systems at the following facilities located in Aurora, Colorado: Wemlinger Water Purification Facility: 18301 E Quincy Ave, Aurora, CO 80015 Griswold Water Purification Facility: 14201 E Hampden Ave, Aurora, CO 80014 The existing fire suppression systems at both facilities consist primarily of aging sprinkler infrastructure that is obsolete and difficult to maintain. The objective of this project is to fully replace the existing sprinkler systems with modern, code-compliant systems suitable for critical public water infrastructure. The project will be delivered using a design-build delivery method. The selected firm will be responsible for the complete design, construction, testing, and commissioning of replacement water-based fire suppression systems. The general scope includes, but is not limited to: Evaluation of existing sprinkler systems, all piping (including the supply lines), valves, and controls Hazard classification and determination of applicable design criteria Design of replacement sprinkler systems, including panels, wet-pipe, dry-pipe, and/or pre-action systems as appropriate Hydraulic calculations and system sizing Removal and replacement of sprinkler piping, heads, valves, and accessories Integration with existing fire alarm and monitoring systems Phased construction and system cutovers to maintain continuous operations Testing, commissioning, and acceptance with Aurora Water and applicable Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ). The scope includes all buildings, rooms, and spaces within each facility unless expressly excluded by Aurora Water. Both facilities are continuously operating water treatment plants and must remain online throughout construction.
