The work comprises the replacement of the belt filter press liquid polymer feed system, including polymer feeder blenders, polymer feed pumps, valves, polymer injection rings, associated piping, controls, electrical, SCADA screen updates, and appurtenances, to be completed in accordance with the contract documents and specific plan files. The project location is in Buildings 70 and 75 at the Wastewater Reclamation Facility, 3000 Vandalia Road, Des Moines, Iowa. Instructions to bidders include: sealed bids must be filed before the specified time in the designated location; each bid must be accompanied by bid security as defined by Section 26.8 of the Iowa Code; contract documents are available from the City Engineer's Office; preference will be given to Iowa products and labor as required by law; sales tax should not be included in the bid, as a sales tax exemption certificate will be provided for materials incorporated in the project. Anticipated Contractor NTP (assumed 30 days after board meeting): June 12th, 2026. Contract Final Completion date: January 31, 2028 Engineer’s Opinion of Probable Project Cost is $1,792,000 WRA Board Hearing Date: May 19, 2026.
