36C25526R0059, 657-21-115JC, 2017-0502.20, 657-26-2-8320-0070 Architect-Engineer construction period services are required to correct HVAC systems supporting procedure rooms and patient isolation rooms within an existing multi-story medical facility. The work includes providing professional design support, engineering analysis, cost estimating, and construction phase services to update and modernize HVAC systems to achieve compliance with current VHA Design Criteria, life safety, fire protection, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and physical security standards. The A/E shall prepare complete and coordinated construction documents, incorporate bid items allowing for a 10 percent budget reduction, and design within the established construction funding limitation. Services also include site investigations, identification and assessment of existing utilities, development of construction phasing and boundaries to protect patients and staff, and participation in Integrated Project Team reviews. The A/E shall support construction through reviews, coordination, and documentation to ensure the end result is a fully functional, certified, and operational HVAC system for the identified procedure and isolation rooms. The Contractor shall begin performance within 10 calendar days and complete it within 580 calendar days.
