Site work for a civil project in Holy Cross, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project; and water / sewer project.
The work consists of the Highland Court Water Main & Sanitary Sewer Replacement Project in Holy Cross, Iowa. The kinds and approximate quantities of materials and types of construction for which bids will be received include: excavation, roadway (waste) 1,450 C.Y.; bituminous surface removal, 3,240 S.Y.; curb & gutter removal, 1,836 L.F.; P.C.C. curb & gutter, 1,836 L.F.; special backfill, 1,700 ton; 3" breaker (macadam), 2,000 ton; bituminous surface course, 385 ton; bituminous intermediate course, 570 ton; 6" P.C.C. driveway, 195 S.Y.; sanitary sewer manhole, 5 each; 8" PVC sanitary sewer main, 674 LF; storm sewer 186 L.F.; 4" PVC sanitary sewer service, 400 L.F.; storm intakes, 5 each; 6" longitudinal subdrain, 1,700 L.F.; 6" PVC C-900 water main, 880 L.F.; 3/4" copper service, 400 L.F.; water service corporation, curb stop & box, 16 each; fire hydrant with auxiliary valve, 3 each; traffic control; seeding; erosion control; and miscellaneous related construction and appurtenances. Alternate bid includes: 6" PCC paving, 3,750 SY replacing P.C.C. curb & gutter, 1,836 LF; HMA surface course, 385 ton; and HMA intermediate course, 570 ton. Each bidder must accompany their bid with bid security as defined in Iowa Code Section 26.8, and must provide a corporate surety bond for the faithful performance of the contract in an amount equal to 100% of the contract amount. The City reserves the right to defer acceptance of any bid for forty-five days and to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to enter into such contract(s) as it deems in the best interest of the jurisdiction. The successful bidder must guarantee the faithful performance of the contract, prompt payment for all material and labor, and maintenance of the improvement for two years after acceptance. Nonresident bidders' preferences will match those of their originating state or country. The work must be completed within 90 consecutive calendar days after commencement, but no later than October 1, 2026, with liquidated damages of $600 per calendar day assessed for late completion.
