Renovation of an educational facility in Florence, Alabama. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Sealed proposals are invited for Phase 2 HVAC Renovations to W.C. Handy School, Florence, Alabama in accordance with the provided drawings and specifications. Proposals will be received at the Florence City Schools Board of Education Offices until the specified deadline and will then be publicly opened and read aloud. A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held onsite for all bidding general contractors and all bidding mechanical and electrical subcontractors. Attendance at this conference is mandatory. Required answers or responses from the conference will be issued by addendum. Bidders must submit a certified check or bid bond payable to Florence City Schools in an amount not less than five percent of the bid, but not more than $10,000. Performance and payment bonds and insurance evidence as required in the bid documents will be needed at the contract signing. Bids must be submitted on proposal forms furnished by the architect or copies thereof. All bidders exceeding the state licensing threshold must be licensed under Alabama law and must display their current license number on the exterior of the sealed bid envelope. The owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and waive technical errors if it is in their best interest. Access to electronic and printed documents is available as instructed.
