The Board of County Commissioners of Meade County will accept sealed bids to haul gravel from various stockpiles and pits to various county highway projects at the Highway Superintendent's discretion in Meade County, SD. Bids are good for one year from the signed agreement date. All hauling is to be coordinated by the Meade County Highway Superintendent and will be on an as needed basis. Seventy-two-hour notice will be given prior to hauling. Bidders must submit their sealed bid to the County Auditor's Office. The envelope shall be marked 'Gravel Hauling Bid 2026.' The bid must state the rate per loaded ton mile, number of trucks, schedule availability, and location. Contractors are required to provide a certificate of liability insurance, certificate of workers compensation insurance (or Affidavit of Exempt Status), and Certification of Prohibited Entity Status SADCL 5-18A-51. The commission reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive formalities in the best interest of Meade County.
