Renovation of a military facility in South Rockwood, Michigan. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a military facility.
Mobilization to the Pointe Mouillee Confined Disposal Facility followed by large-scale vegetation clearing across Cells 1 and 2 to prepare the work area. After an initial topographic survey, substantial earthmoving will construct 3-foot-high, 50-foot-wide, 13,000-foot-long internal berms offset from existing perimeter dikes using on-site material, with drainage ditches created between the new berms and the perimeter road. The berm construction will bypass existing weir structures, with four pipes installed in each cell through or below the berms, equipped with flap gates or valves to convey water from the raised 3-foot section to the original weirs. The cells will be regraded to ensure positive drainage toward the weirs while maintaining functional existing ditches. Work will conclude with a final topographic survey to verify grades, followed by complete demobilization. Location: Pointe Mouillee Confined Disposal Facility, South Rockwood, Monroe County, MI 48179. The Method of Contractor Selection has not been determined at this Time.
