Site work for a water / sewer project in Archbold, Ohio. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
A new sanitary sewer interceptor will be installed from the northwest corner of North Defiance Street at Flory Lane to a location approximately 280 feet east of North Defiance Street. 250 feet of 18" PVC sanitary will be installed along with three new manholes. Due to the depth of the sewer and the large number of existing utilities in the area, the portion of the new sewer across North Defiance Street will be directionally bored using a 28" diameter steel casing pipe. This method of construction will minimize disruption to traffic along North Defiance Street, which would not be the case if the sewer were to be installed using open trench methods. As the sewer continues east in a dedicated utility easement across an open farm field, open trench construction will be utilized. The new sanitary interceptor will provide a sanitary outlet for the new Peacefield Subdivision and will have the potential to serve future areas to the east and north.
