The City of Quincy invites Bidders to submit sealed Bids for CY2026 Water Mains Replacement Contract 1. The Base Bid includes but is not limited to the replacement of 8,560 feet of 6-inch to 12-inch unlined cast iron water main; furnishing and installing related gate valves, hydrants, and appurtenances, and all materials, equipment, services and construction inherent to the Work. The estimated value of the contract is $3,385,000.00. All work under this contract shall be substantially completed by December 15, 2026, and all work shall be ready for final payment by May 1, 2027. Inquiries will be accepted until Friday, March 13, 2026, at12:00 p.m. A Bid sent by mail or couriershall be addressed to the Issuing Office The Project is titled Bid CY2026 Water Mains Contract 1 and generally consists of replacing existing cast iron water mains with new cement lined, ductile iron water mains, furnishing and installing new valves, hydrants and cement lined, ductile iron fittings, and replacing existing water services The Work includes all labor, material, tools, equipment and services required for construction, testing, and commissioning of the Work in accordance with the Contract Documents and as more specifically described in the Specifications and Drawings. The Work includes, but is not limited to, the following principal features. 1. Locating and operating existing valves to obtain isolation control for the Project area with Owner's permission. 2. Replacement of 17,070 feet of 6-inch to 12-inch unlined cast iron water main; furnishing and installing related gate valves, hydrants, and appurtenances ranging in size from 6-inch to 20-inch, and all materials, equipment, services and construction inherent to the Work. The city has pre-purchased 1,446 linear feet of 8-diameter ductile iron pipe and 20 hydrants for this project and will make this stock available at the DPW yard located at 55 Sea Street, Quincy. 3.
