Renovation of an educational facility in Quincy, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

Issuing a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to pre-qualify Prime Contractors and Select FSB trades for the HVAC electrification project at an existing multi-story school building. Prime Contractors are required to be DCAMM certified in the category of General Construction, FSB trades DCAMM certified in their respective trades. The project will be bid using M.G.L. c. 149 lump sum bids. Scope includes the electrical switchgear expansion, replacement of the HVAC systems and related work that includes painting, acoustic ceilings and limited flooring replacement. Construction is to begin in Summer 2026 and be completed in several phases working around school vacations through Summer 2027. Contractor Qualification DCAMM Certificate Required for DCAMM contracts over $150,000, Highway Division contracts over $50,000. Full electrification of the HVAC system, including installation of an air-source heat pump (heater/chiller) to provide hot water to perimeter radiation units. The project includes replacement of all existing HVAC equipment and piping, installation of energy recovery ventilation (ERV) units with associated ductwork to deliver tempered outdoor air, and provision of a new high-efficiency gas-fired condensing boiler plant for emergency backup. A new diesel-fired emergency generator will also be installed to support critical systems. The Snug Harbor Elementary School HVAC Electrification Project is located at 333 Palmer Street. The project isto fully electrify the HVAC system, including installation of an air-source heat pump (heater/chiller) to provide hot water to perimeter radiation units. The project includes replacement of all existing HVAC equipment and piping, installation of energy recovery ventilation (ERV) units with associated ductwork to deliver tempered outdoor air. The scope includes replacement of the steam fired boilers with new high-efficiency gas-fired condensing boiler plant for emergency backup. A new diesel-fired emergency generator will also be installed to support critical systems. The work is phased construction with work occurring only during school vacations with the bulk of the work completed in the Summer 2026 and to be completed in the Summer 2027. Do notsubmit questions by phone. All responses will be emailed to all registered RFQ recipients by 12:00 PM on April 20, 2026.
