The general scope of work shall consist of the furnishing and planting of approximately 150 new trees of varying species and related work at various locations. The following related items shall be included: cutting and excavation of tree pits; watering and maintaining of the trees; preparation of planting soil mix and fertilizer additions; installation of bark mulch; and fine grading of planted areas. A minimum quantity is specified, but for certain species, the final number of trees planted may be greater than the minimum amount. Bids must state exceptions, if any, the delivery date, and any allowable discounts. Bids must be in a sealed envelope clearly marked with "BID ENCLOSED" and the time/date of the bid call. Firm bid prices will be given first consideration. Late bids will be rejected. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total value of the bid in the form of a bid bond or certified/treasurer's check. The bidding and award of this contract shall comply with all applicable Federal, State, and City of Quincy regulations and the Massachusetts Prevailing Wage Law. The City reserves the right to waive any informality in or to reject any or all bids when such action is deemed in the best interests of the City.
