The project involves the construction of Elevated Water Storage Tower No. 4, including a 2,500,000 gallon composite elevated storage tank and related improvements at 410 SW School Street in the City of Ankeny. The scope of work includes excavation, backfill and site work, foundation, PCC pavement, buried piping and valves, painting, fencing, electrical wiring and conduit, controls integration, lighting, miscellaneous equipment, site grading, surface restoration, and associated work necessary to complete the project. Bidders are required to submit sealed proposals before the stated deadline. Each bid must be accompanied by bid security as defined by Iowa Code Section 26.8. The successful bidder must furnish a corporate Surety Bond for 100% of the contract amount, and provide a Certificate of Insurance meeting specified requirements. The contract will require adherence to Title VI compliance, and no discrimination will be allowed based on race, color, or national origin. Payments will be based on estimates approved by the Engineer, with a retainage held according to Iowa Code. The project must be fully completed no later than May 31, 2028, with liquidated damages assessed for delays. The City of Ankeny reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities as deemed in its best interest.
