Reference Number 0000415446 Notice is hereby given that La Plata County is seeking bids from qualified Contractors for the crushing of approximately 30,000 tons of gravel in a gravel pit owned by the County. The La Plata County Road and Bridge Department is accepting bids from qualified contractors for the crushing of approximately 30,000 tons of gravel on a gravel pit owned by the County. The Westside Gravel Pit is located at 11134 County Road 136, Hesperus, CO. Depending on budget appropriations and the needs within the Road and Bridge Department, the County reserves the right to reduce or increase tons as deemed necessary by the Road and Bridge Department Superintendent. This project is time sensitive. The County intends to have a contract executed no later than mid late September 2026. The successful Contractor will need to: establish operations quickly; apply for the required registrations promptly (see below); ensure that crushing commences mid September to early October; and, is completed no later than early December 2026.
