This project consists of the furnishing of all equipment, labor, and materials for the installation of new water main and sanitary sewer and any connections to existing water mains and sanitary sewers necessary to provide service to the National Guard Armory Facility located in La Porte, Indiana. Landscape restoration and/or pavement is to be installed over disturbed areas. Bids shall be properly and completely executed on the Bid Form (Section 00300), and must be accompanied by Indiana State Board of Accounts Form 96, Certification Regarding Unauthorized Aliens, signed copies of Addenda (if issued) and satisfactory bid security. Each bid shall be accompanied by an acceptable certified check or cashier's check made payable to the City of La Porte, Indiana or an acceptable bid bond in an amount equal to 5 percent of the total bid price executed by an incorporated surety company in good standing and qualified to do business in the State of Indiana. A performance bond and payment bond, each in the amount of 100 percent of the contract price, will be required upon award of the contract. No bidder may withdraw their bid within a period of 30 days following the date set for receiving bids. The City of La Porte Board of Public Works and Safety reserves the right to retain any and all bids for a period of not more than 30 days, and said bids shall remain in full force and effect during said time. The Board further reserves the right to waive informalities, and to award the contract to any Bidder, all to the advantage of the City of La Porte, or to reject all bids. A bidder submitting a sealed bid as prime contractor for this project shall self-perform a minimum of 50% of the value of the total bid. Question Deadline 03/20/2026 If any prospective Bidder is in doubt as to the true meaning of any part of the Project Documents, a written request may be submitted to the Engineer for clarification. To be given consideration, written requests must be received by the Engineer at least five (5) days prior to the date fixed for the opening of Bids.
