Renovation of an educational facility in Kingsford, Michigan. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 35,000-square-foot, one-story above grade educational facility.
Dickinson-Iron Intermediate School District is seeking bids for construction services for renovations at the Technical Education Center, 300 North Boulevard, Kingsford, MI. The Center is approximately 35,000 square feet, one-story, with classrooms, industrial arts labs, and administrative offices. The project consists only of renovations, not additions, and includes partial modifications to the building layout, creation of a new administrative suite, classroom upgrades, substantial plumbing work for restrooms -- including new universal restroom grouping, new flooring, lighting, and ceilings throughout, a full HVAC upgrade to roof-top force-air systems with air conditioning, new roof, exterior cladding and insulation upgrades, and a building-wide fire suppression system. The general contractor will be responsible for scheduling the work, with invasive and disruptive work expected in the summer months to ensure the school remains operational from September to June. Lump Sum Bid proposals for General Construction with itemized additive/subtractive alternates are required. Bid documents must be submitted as specified in the instructions to bidders.
