This project is to involve roadway base repairs including the excavation and removal of existing materials and providing the HMA 19 MM Binder Course as well as the installation of a HMA Wearing Course 9.5 MM mix Level 1. All work involved shall be within the legal Right-of-way of several state routes, city streets and township streets including Castanea Township. Project location maps are provided as part of the bid specifications, please see those maps for accurate locations of project works. Roadway base repairs: 5" deep HMA base course to the length and width indicated on Attachment 1.1. Work will include excavation, removal and disposal of material and tack coating of all porous surfaces. Furnish, place and compact base course material. Undercut unstable areas, replace and compact 2A aggregate material at the direction of the City (this is an extra work item, approval required prior to completing). All depths shown are compacted. Wearing course: l 1/2 " thick HMA wearing course to the length and width indicated on Attachment I.I. All depths shown are compacted. Asphalt curb installation shall be in accordance with the detail included at the end of this packet. All depths shown are compacted. A unit price for Additional Patch Locations shall include 5" deep HMA base course and 1 1/2 " HMA wearing course at locations yet to be identified by the City but potentially of similar size as the patches determined in Attachment I.I. osals must be on forms furnished by the City. Each proposal must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in the amount of ten percent of the total bid, as a guarantee that the bidder will execute the contract and furnish the necessary bonds if the contract is awarded to them. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to accept or reject any part of any bid, and to waive any irregularities. A Contract is Anticipated to Be Awarded at the Council Meeting at 7:00pm on April 6, 2026.
