Improvements for this project will generally include asphalt grinding/milling, hot mix asphalt paving, pavement marking, and traffic control. The work will take place on Central Avenue in Woodacre from Carson Road to Railroad Avenue. Bids are required for the entire work described. The Contractor shall possess a valid Class "A" License at the time of bid submittal. The Bidder and all subcontractors are required to be registered as a public works contractor with the Department of Industrial Relations and such registration must remain active throughout the term of the Contract. A Bid Bond, cash, certified check, or cashier's check, in the amount of 10% of the total bid amount payable to the County of Marin shall accompany the Proposal. The award of contract, if awarded, will be to the lowest responsible bidder whose proposal complies with prescribed requirements. The County of Marin reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive any irregularities. Pursuant to Public Contract Code Sections 7201 and 9203, the County of Marin shall retain 5 percent of the contract price until final completion and acceptance of the project. There is no pre-bid meeting scheduled. Bidder must visit the work site before submitting a bid and should thoroughly investigate the project conditions. This contract is subject to state contract nondiscrimination and compliance requirements. Contractors and all subcontractors shall pay not less than current prevailing wage rates as determined by the California Department of Industrial Relations to all workers employed on this project. Compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations is required.
